Six weeks really flies by...

So, I just realised that it has been six weeks since my last post. A lot of my time has been chewed up with job searching, and the fact that I have been without a phone line at home for almost three weeks now, thanks to the joy of living in a poorly constructed apartment with a useless real estate agent/landlord/body corporate. Whilst I am not really any closer to getting a job, I decided...

Using jQuery in Wordpress plugins

So, it has been a LONG time since my last post. I could make up a whole heap of excuses, but put simply I have been finding it difficult to find stuff to post on whilst unemployed. One thing I have been working on is my Etsy Wordpress widget. Like any good piece of software I have been adding additional features in each release, which in turn has meant that there are more and more...

Another day, another Powershell script

Sorry, script no longer available Working with the idea of working smarter, not harder, I decided that those few minutes each morning checking the SCOM Console could be replaced with an email, much like I have done with other monitoring and reporting. It’s very much a 1.0 release, but I hope it helps somebody.

There's no 'i' in team...but maybe there should be

Forbes published an article at the end of 2009 titled Why Introverts Can Make The Best Leaders which I just discovered. The article discusses (not surprisingly!) why introverts can draw on their trait to become a successful leader. This really resonated with me as an introvert living in an extrovert’s world. So what is an introvert? Introversion is a tendency towards inflection, to look within yourself for your energy, rather than relying on an external...

ExchangeInfo 2.7.0 - now with more Exchange 2010

Script no longer available- [vCheck-Exchange](https://github.com/vCheckReport/vCheck-Exchange) may replace some functionality Over the past week I have been setting up a new Exchange 2010 environment, which has enabled me to revisit my ExchangeInfo script. I was happy to see most of the functionality worked without much tweaking, however the shift to DAGs has made the replica status reporting a bit more difficult. And when the environment I have is a single Exchange server, it is practically impossible....

I'm doing my part

As anyone that has ever done any web development can tell you, Internet Explorer can be a real pain. This is especially true of the older versions- I can personally remember tearing a lot of hair out trying to get a website to work on IE6 for Mac, let alone Windows, Firefox, Opera, etc… Microsoft have been pushing to kill off old versions of IE for a while now, starting with IE6. They recently released...

Take your job and...fill it

I’ve been a bit slack when it comes to blog posts over the past few weeks due to real life commitments, so I figured it was time for a short post on the matter. I have just resigned from my job. At this stage I have nowhere to go, but with 4 weeks before I actually finish, I’m not too worried. I’m still undecided as to whether I go straight back into a new job, take the...

Wordpress L&D

I’ve been a bit quiet on my blog recently, partly due to lack of inspiration, partly because I have been working on another project. So, I figured I would write up a quick post on what I’ve been up to. The launch of the new-look PhoebeC My girlfriend has had a website for close to a year now, but recently embarked on a refresh to bring it into line with what she feels the look...

ExchangeInfo 2.6.0 Released

Script no longer available- [vCheck-Exchange](https://github.com/vCheckReport/vCheck-Exchange) may replace some functionality I’ve just uploaded version 2.6.0 of my ExchangeInfo script. Changes Fixed logic on report deletion ($keepReports was the opposite of what the documentaion said) Added information on ActiveSync devices to the report I’m sure there is a pun to be made about ActiveSync, but the inspiration has not hit me…

BES Powershell

Sorry, script no longer available Over the past day or so I have been working on another new project- Gathering information from our Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES). This also marks my first venture into writing a Powershell module to combine the various functions. And with that i’ve also started marking it up with the required information for the Get-Help cmdlet to hopefully make it easier to use. At this stage I have posted up a...
